Summer is well underway. If you have not made plans yet, there is still a realistic window – and now a reason to move quickly.
The Glühwürmchenhütte and the Romantikhütte in the Feistritztal valley have dates available in July and August. Both cabins, both months, one offer: 20% off all remaining summer dates, bookable until July 31.
What you get: two different cabins in the northern Styrian mountains, surrounded by forest and meadows, with no organised programme and no unnecessary fuss. The Glühwürmchenhütte has more space and suits families or small groups – it has a garden that takes on a life of its own in summer. The Romantikhütte is designed for two, quieter and more intimate, with a hot tub.
July is firefly season. In the evenings, the meadows around the Glühwürmchenhütte begin to glow – which is exactly where the name comes from. It is not something that happens on schedule, but when it does, it tends to stay with you.
August shifts things slightly. The days are full, the nights shorter, but the quiet around both cabins remains. Styria in late summer has a quality that is difficult to describe and easy to underestimate.
